Changing filters in your Acetec ventilation unit

To ensure that your Acetec FTX unit continues to operate as energy efficiently as possible, we recommend changing the filter at least once a year. However, in some environments it may be wise to do it more often.

Air quality determines how often you should change the filter

How quickly the filters get dirty depends on several factors in your environment. You should check the filters more often if:

• You live near a busy road or industrial area
• You have pets that sheds hair
• The living environment is dusty or pollen-rich
• The ventilation system runs on high flows most of the year

Dirty filters can do that:

• Ventilation flow deteriorates
• Air is no longer free of particles, pollen and pollutants
• The system becomes more energy intensive

Regular filter replacement and maintenance will ensure that your product performs as intended year after year. Dirty filters mean that the intended airflow is not achieved and more dirt is introduced via the supply air.

Feel free to change both filters at the same time

FTX units are equipped with two filters:

• One for supply air - purifies the air entering the home
• One for exhaust air - protects the inside of the unit from dust and particles from the home

To ensure that the entire ventilation process works optimally, we recommend that both filters are changed at the same time. When you order filters from us, they are delivered separately - so you need two filters at each change.

Keeping a few filters in reserve at home is an easy way to avoid unnecessary downtime. As long as the filters are stored in their unbroken packaging, protected from moisture and sunlight, they will stay in good condition until it's time to use them. By using our original filters, you ensure that the unit works as it is designed to do.
